Yes. The resort’s location allows guests to walk to restaurants, shops, and beach activities without needing a car.
Guests can enjoy a variety of cultural experiences across Maui, including attending luaus and enjoying Hawaiian music and hula performances. Experiences such as outrigger canoe excursions, visits to the Maui Ocean Center, and various museums across the island are also popular. We are also pleased to offer cultural enrichment right here at the resort. The Whaler’s Cultural Ambassador, Nathan, hosts engaging talks on Hawaiian culture twice weekly – a guest favorite and highly recommended experience during your stay.
Nearby attractions include Whalers Village, Kaanapali Beach, Black Rock, Kaanapali Golf Courses, Lahaina town (short drive), and West Maui hiking trails.
Beyond whale watching, guests can spot sea turtles (honu), tropical fish while snorkeling, and native bird species along coastal trails. Guests are also often lucky enough to see monk seals resting along Kaʻanapali Beach.
